Your Tropical Bure (pr: boo-ray and Fijian for house) with Outdoor Shower and Jacuzzi has Ocean and Garden views with a private bedroom and a generous king bed. Open your swinging French doors to your sundeck with a Fijian Day Bed, perfect for reading a book or relaxing in the sun. The spacious lounge room has a mini bar, refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, as well as comfortable lounge furniture. The modern bathroom is tropically designed with a inside bath and shower, bath products, hair dryer, cupboards, and a electronic safe. The outdoor shower and Jacuzzi in the private lush garden is a Fiji essential and come standard as a part of every Tropical Bure.
The Bures were built in 2006 / 2007 with local coconut & rain tree woods. The sun deck is made from local river stones with the exterior walls made of local coconut timber hand cut by the village Talatala (Priest).
The indoor wooden fittings have been hand crafted from coconut woods with the furniture being locally designed with rain tree and coconut woods. The artifacts’ you see throughout the Bure are constructed by the local village craftsmen.
The ceiling above you is thatched traditionally by the men of the neighboring Vuna Village, using coconut wood and magi magi (Fijian rope) to secure the woven coconut leaves to the wooden beams. You may notice how cool it is inside your Bure. The traditional method of thatching ensures protection from rain, sun & heat. Your Bure is also cooled with ceiling fans in the bedroom and lounge room.
To build the new Bures, only select trees were used, so as not to disturb the fragile ecosystem of the area surrounding Paradise.
