Pacific Dive & Travel Famil Group In Paradise – 20 April 2010.

The USA Dive Wholesaler, Pacific Dive & Travel, brought 10 Dive Travel Sales staff, positioned across the USA, to Paradise Taveuni for 3 nights recently.

The group enjoyed diving on our pristine Vuna Reef and of course the legendary Rainbow Reef.  They experienced Fiji Night and had dinner with owner, Allan Gortan.

The majority of the group commented that they had stayed at 2 other dive properties in Fiji and the biggest point of difference about Paradise Taveuni is the ‘real Fiji’ experience while the were in Paradise. They really felt they were in Fiji because of the layout of the traditional Fijian Bure’s, the genuine hospitality they received from the Paradise Team, the warm ‘Bula’ from all staff throughout their stay, each meal included fresh local produce with Fijian influences and the Fiji Night celebrations. Many of the group members had been to Fiji previously and seen many meke’s, eaten many Lovo feasts and had Kava in many places, however when they tried the Paradise Fiji Night, they said it was exceptionally different from anything else they had experienced.

Teaching Position Available in Paradise: 5 April 2010.

Kindergarten & Early Primary School Teacher is required for Home Schooling Position.

The right Teacher will be privately home-schooling the Resort owners children – 5 and 6 years – and some Paradise Staff’s children  aged 5 – 7 years.

Must have teaching certificates, references and some teaching experience.

Computer skills and ablity to access the internet well is essential.

Single accommodation in family house with meals, laundry service, internet, work permit (if required), resort activities after hours included in package with small wage.

This position is suitable for recent single graduate who wants to travel and experience a different country and culture. 6-12 month position only with ability to extend if desired. After work sees applicant enjoying all activities that this boutique Resort has to offer.

TC Tomas: 23 March 2010.

In the aftermath of Tropical Cyclone Tomas, we are all well in Paradise and in clean up mode.

All accommodation bures are undamaged and the only damage we sustained has been to the grounds.

All of our 10 Guests that were with us during the cyclone are well and in good spirits and many of them are even helping with the clean up.

We have power and water and Paradise Taveuni is fully operational and will continue to be.

Land lines and mobile phone access has been cut throughout the Island, however domestic flights have been reinstated to Taveuni and we are quite bus in Paradise with the JR Aquatic Dive Group that have recently arrived.

Our shore dives directly in front of the Resort have received some damage, however Vuna Reef and Rainbow Reef dive sites in all intact.

A big Thank you to all of our staff and local villagers who have been helping us put the gardens back in place.

Some of our staff and neighbours have lost their homes and Paradise Taveuni has started a special fund to help arise money for those families in need. We will be supplying building materials and clothing. Should you want to help, please contact us at Paradise.
